Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Senior Engagement Adviser, Communications to join the Alumni team in the Development and Alumni Relations Office. This fixed-term, full-time position will be responsible for a range of communications and engagement activity for alumni, the general public and other University communities.
**Key responsibilities**:
- Leading the production and publication of content on alumni communication channels
- Producing written and digital communications material
- Developing and delivering events, including preparing budgets, invitations, guest lists, function briefs and other related items
- Planning and delivering specific projects or major events and other projects
- Provide editing services and communications advice to colleagues
- Maintain administrative processes and systems including keeping accurate records
Ō pūmanawa - About you
The successful applicant will have excellent communication, organisational, and relationship management skills. Experience in events or project management will be an advantage, as would an understanding of a university or tertiary education environment.
**Key requirements**:
- Proven experience in communications
- Expertise in event management
- Demonstrated experience of developing and maintaining effective relationships both internally and externally
- Experience in producing high quality communications material across a range of channels
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise, plan and meet deadlines
- Capability to work as part of a team as well as having individual responsibilities
It is expected that the Senior Engagement Adviser, Communications is able to do occasional after hours and weekend work for evening functions and other major events.
