**6 Month Contract**

The Communication & Engagement Advisor is responsible for all aspects of our clients public relations activities at an operational level and contributes at the strategic level. You will manage corporate and marketing communication, branding, media liaison and web-based communication, in consultation with your manager and colleagues in the Communications, Marketing and Engagement (CME) Team.

Reporting to the Communication, Marketing & Engagement Manager, key accountabilities for this role will include:

- Creating a cohesive and high performing team, setting clear direction and working together to achieve goals
- Growing diverse capability within your team, supporting the development of team members and establishing succession.
- Building successful working relationships with peers and colleagues, internally and externally
- Positioning your team to shape, define and respond to meet customer and future needs.
- Managing the organisations communication & engagement activities, including development and periodic review of the strategies to ensure they support their strategic vision.
- Working collaboratively across teams to ensure communication & engagement activities are coordinated and aligned
- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with internal and external contacts including project and business unit managers, staff, local authorities, suppliers, consultants, and contractors.
- Ensuring that project management enables prioritisation of investments, well informed decision making and financial monitoring

You will be regarded as an internal expert on communication, marketing and engagement matters. You will develop a positive work environment with strong employee experience and culture within a team that allows positive conflict.

We are looking for someone with at least 3 years experience in a communication role. You will have proven media management in, and a broad understanding of a political environment. You will offer a strategic, innovative and creative approach, be media savvy and have the ability to maintain confidentiality and work well under pressure.
