The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

We have a permanent, full-time opportunity available to join our Prevention team as a **Senior Advisor - Pharmacovigilance Approach. **This role is critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures).

The primary purpose of the Senior Advisor - Pharmacovigilance Approach role is to lead and contribute to the delivery of the vaccine safety monitoring workplan, lead in the development of advice to inform decision making and operational policy, lead the delivery of complex pieces of work, and to support the professional development of the team. This role works closely with other clinical and technical experts and teams in the Prevention Directorate to ensure an integrated and consistent approach to pharmacovigilance activity across Te Whatu Ora and in partnership with the Regulator.

You will utilise a breadth of pharmacovigilance knowledge and leadership skills to continuously improve the organisation's ability to monitor vaccine safety and protect consumers. **Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification in an area relevant to public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, data analytics or other relevant field or comparable experience
- Well-developed analytical and technical skills, including the ability to collect, assimilate, and summarise raw data in a systematic way to build a useful dataset for analysis
- Well-developed technical and scientific writing, oral, and presentation skills to communicate clearly and concisely in a range of formats, to suit a range of audiences (technical and non-technical)
- Knowledge and skills to deal effectively with complex and politically sensitive situations or topics
- Is approachable with a collegial attitude and desire to work with others to achieve results and share knowledge and expertise to support the growth of the team
- Demonstrated understanding of the significance and obligations of Te Tiriti Waitangi, including how to give effect to these expectations in a meaningful way (or a willingness to learn)
