**Ko tō mahi - what you’ll do**:

- Transform the IT Test and Release function into a highly efficient and effective function, with a high degree of automation, highly talented people and the right process measures in place to demonstrate performance
- Managing a hybrid in-house and outsourced team of 100 permanent, contractor and vendor staff, located both onshore and in India
- Build a team of highly capable engineers by hiring the very best test engineers and growing existing talent through education, training, feedback, mentoring, and coaching
- Promoting a positive work environment by driving initiatives that lift team engagement
- Work closely with Engineering and Program/Project managers to estimate, plan and execute successful releases of capability into production
- Drive culture and capability around Test Engineering
- Enable test capability into DevOps Squads by develop staff to develop more T-shaped skills
- Effectively balance regression automation, maintenance, progression and regression between onshore and offshore resources.
For existing systems, increase test & pipeline automation for regression and progression testing
- Move all legacy testing into Zephyr for Jira and move off ALM
- Own the end to end integrated test function including regression, progressing, non-functional including performance, stress and volume, UAT and post-verification testing
- Oversee the testing and release of software across Vodafone’s entire IT ecosystem which is being developed using both waterfall and agile methodologies
- Own the Release Management function that supports both converged releases as well as stand-alone releases, as well as the release train paths for agile squads
- Own and manage the integrated test environments including the schedule, code baseline, capacity and test data. Build and support as required development and system test environments.
- Play an integral role in the roll out and adoption of automated CI/CD pipeline including test and release automation
- Managing and coordinating all release and deployment activities

- Substantial experience in a senior IT leadership position leading large teams
Experiencing in transforming teams into DevOps teams with T-shaped skills
- Experience in operating in both waterfall and scaled agile environments
- Ability to research and quickly resolve technical issues
- Demonstrable ability to effectively use data driven problem solving tools and techniques such as DMAIC
- Strong skills in identifying, developing and implementing process improvement initiatives
- Strong commercial acumen and Telco or industry specific knowledge (preffered, not required)
- Strong communication skills and competent presenting to senior Exec members
