About the Role
The Environment Manager is responsible for governing and ensuring the planning, scheduling, and managing approved releases through test and managed Environments for outsourced Clients. They also deliver and maintain all agreed i.e. ‘In Scope’ Client Environments.
The Environment Manager performs a Release and Environment Management service function in accordance with an ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) aligned Release and Environment Management process and policy.
They own the processes, systems, and functions to co-ordinate the release of new and enhanced functionality.
This role has an after-hours component for deployment of Releases into the agreed Customer environments.
What you’ll bring
- 5 years of broad IT experience
- Demonstrated experience in performing a Release and Environment Management role.
- Demonstrated experience working in a team environment comprising a mix of internal, Client & vendor resources
- Ability to influence at both an operational and management level
- Ability to provide detailed information and summarize to a management level

Desirable Skills
- Agile Release Management experience.
- Background in integrated systems.
- Knowledge of DevOps and continuous integration and development (CI/CD) tools.

**Responsibilities**:

- Pro-actively contributing to the Release and Environments Management planning, sizing, and scheduling in conjunction with the Client and Aggregated Parties (if applicable).
- Creating and maintaining a standard Release and Environment management process and communicating updates.
- Maintaining a standard Release and Environment register and calendar.
- Providing guidance to Projects on Release and Environments process and helping plan and advising on release windows.
- Seeking and maintaining ongoing knowledge of individual Project Release and Environment requirements based on the Project progress and current plans so that the latest information can be incorporated into Release and Environment plans.
- Providing inputs to the monthly operational Client report.
- For Release Management:

- Enforcing and policing in-house change control standards and procedures.
- Ensuring that all migration related tasks are properly communicated to all relevant parties and that they are completed in a timely manner.
- Ensuring all components of a release have been packaged and versioned as per appropriate standards.
- Ensuring all aspects of Release Readiness are accommodated for in preparation for go-live including, but not limited to, testing completion, security and privacy readiness, support readiness, operational readiness and overall implementation readiness.
- Scheduling and controlling the movement of releases through the various test, pre-production and production environments.
- Identifying appropriate continuous service improvement methods for Release Management and seek input from key stakeholders
