A leadership opportunity has become available to appoint an Operations Manager to run our Timaru Branch. Reporting to the Southern Regional Manager, this position is responsible for the overall operational performance of our Timaru Branch. This is a new branch as a result of Company expansion so we are looking to form a small cohesive team in the Timaru region.

**The key responsibilities of the position are to**:

- Lead the Team - Provide visible leadership to the team to drive a culture of strong performance, health and safety excellence and to support our goal of Market Leadership.
- Drive Operational Excellence - Work with the Southern Regional Manager to develop the operational frameworks and people capability for success within the Timaru Branch.
- Cultivate a successful team by ensuring expectations are understood, training and coaching programs are in place, and a culture of health and safety and service excellence is maintained.
- Ensure a culture of health and safety excellence is continually developed and imbedded into the operation.

**To be successful in this position, you will have the following skills and experience**:

- A minimum of 3 years experience in a leadership role within the freight and transport industry.
- Robust knowledge of freight operations/contract management including, planning, reporting, performance monitoring and evaluating.
- Demonstrated a capability to build high performing teams from both an operational and health and safety perspective.
- An excellent verbal/ written communicator with an ability to positively influence the team and engage confidently with customers.
- A Class 5 Drivers license would be required.
