We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Te Whetu Tawera, the Adult Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit for Auckland District Health Board.
Key Highlights- Permanent, full-time (40 hours per week), Monday to Friday
- Requirement to participate in on-call roster
We serve the population of central Auckland, with a 58-bed unit, including a 12-bed ICU. Our team of highly skilled Psychiatrists, Nurses and Allied Health staff provides assessment, diagnosis and treatment for adults with serious mental illness and severe psychological disorders. We work collaboratively with service users, their family/whānau and community mental health teams to promote recovery.
About the RoleYou will be an enthusiastic and proactive Mental Health Specialist with a special interest in adult acute inpatient psychiatry. You must be a medical practitioner registered with the Medical Council of New Zealand eligible for Vocational Registration in Psychiatry and hold an Annual Practising Certificate.
In this role, you will enjoy great support and diversity in a busy clinical teaching environment. The position includes participation in the adult mental health Consultant on-call roster.
Salary InformationThe estimated annual salary for this role is approximately $250,000-$300,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
