Lead Finance and Administration Role
We are seeking an experienced operational leader to serve as the Director of Finance and Administration for our Department of Biomedical Data Science. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading finance and administration operations, managing staff, and ensuring compliance across various functional areas. This role requires strong leadership, supervisory, planning, and change management skills.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop operational and financial plans for new departmental strategic initiatives, focusing on execution, implementation, and scaling of these initiatives.
* Partner with senior leadership to manage departmental affairs and advocate for the unit's needs and goals to internal and external parties.
* Evaluate business processes and analyze operational and/or financial effectiveness.
* Analyze department needs and make recommendations to senior leaders for changes in staffing, facilities, health and safety compliance, finance, technology, and/or administrative functions.
* Responsible for overall fiscal wellness and financial operations, including developing and monitoring consolidated budget and analyzing research funding.
* Direct department operations, overseeing management of core department activities, including faculty affairs and research portfolios, student, fellow, and education-related activities, and events, communications, and marketing activities.

Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree (MBA, Public Health, Healthcare Informatics, or related field) or a combination of education and relevant experience. They should have at least five years of progressively responsible managerial experience, including financial and budget preparation, and three years of supervisory experience. Additionally, they should demonstrate strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements, excellent communication skills, and the ability to establish a culture of integrity, supportive teamwork, respectful communication, positive intent, inclusivity, and continual improvement.
