About The Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Dunedin. As a key member of our Youth Specialty Service, you will be responsible for assessing and treating young people aged 14-18 with complex mental health needs.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing specialist mental health services to children and adolescents;
  • Working collaboratively with the primary health sector, education, and NGO sectors;
  • Supporting the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans;
  • Maintaining high standards of practice and contributing to the supervision and training of registrars;
  • Participating on an on-call roster providing after-hours coverage for the Southern region.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong commitment to service user and family inclusion in service delivery;
  • A sound understanding of and commitment to biculturalism;
  • Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent;
  • Eligibility for registration with the NZ Medical Council;
  • A full driver's licence.
