About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in Dunedin. As a key member of our Youth Specialty Service, you will be responsible for assessing and treating young people aged 14-18 with complex mental health needs.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist mental health services to children and adolescents;
- Working collaboratively with the primary health sector, education, and NGO sectors;
- Supporting the development and implementation of individualized treatment plans;
- Maintaining high standards of practice and contributing to the supervision and training of registrars;
- Participating on an on-call roster providing after-hours coverage for the Southern region.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- A strong commitment to service user and family inclusion in service delivery;
- A sound understanding of and commitment to biculturalism;
- Fellowship with the RANZCP or equivalent;
- Eligibility for registration with the NZ Medical Council;
- A full driver's licence.
