About Us

Te Tari Arotake Mātauranga Education Review Office (ERO) serves as the government's premier education evaluation agency. We are committed to fostering a stronger, more equitable education system by promoting equity and excellence in outcomes for all learners. Our mission is centered around the child, with the guiding principle that the heart of the matter is Ko te tamaiti te pūtake o te kaupapa.

Your Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead the Education Evaluation Centre, driving impactful research and evaluation projects while mentoring and growing a talented team of researchers. You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, represent the organization on national and international stages, and manage the Centre with precision to achieve its financial targets.

About You

We are seeking an exceptional leader who thrives in fast-paced environments, supports their team to deliver high-quality work on time, and has a strong understanding of New Zealand's policy environment. While a research background is not necessary, experience at director level in government or a related field, coupled with a willingness to learn, is highly valued. The ideal candidate will bring project leadership experience, exceptional writing skills, and a collaborative approach to their work. They will be comfortable with ambiguity, driven to succeed, and committed to putting children at the heart of the matter.

Salary Information
