Job Description
This position requires a Personal Care Specialist to provide one-on-one support to an individual with complex needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with challenging behaviours and a strong understanding of trauma-informed care.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Helping the individual to manage their emotional wellbeing and develop coping strategies
- Assisting with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household management
- Supporting the individual to pursue their goals and interests
- Developing and implementing individualised plans to promote independence and self-advocacy
Qualifications and Skills
The successful candidate will hold a relevant qualification in health and wellbeing or a related field and have experience working in a disability support setting. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the person we support and their whanau.
