Wharaurau is a social impact company working to improve the mental health and wellbeing of infants, children, and youth in Aotearoa. We provide workforce development within the mental health and addiction sector, collaborating with Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and the Ministry of Education.

The Opportunity

We seek an experienced clinician to lead and facilitate our mental health and addictions programs aimed at the infant, child, and youth workforce. This role will support program deliverables, plan, provide resources, deliver, and report on workforce development activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and oversight for successful implementation of workforce development activities.
  • Promote and implement trauma-informed approaches and practices across services supporting infants, children, youth, and their whanau.
  • Support workforce development with a focus on maternal mental health, ensuring professionals are equipped to provide effective, empathetic, and culturally competent care.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure workforce development activities meet the needs of the infant, child, youth, and whanau mental health sector in Aotearoa.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Hold a clinical qualification with a relevant tertiary degree in mental health, health, or education.
  • Have 5 years minimum workplace experience in clinical services or as a project manager in clinical or NGO services.
  • Understand Maori and Pacific approaches to wellbeing and be committed to promoting positive outcomes for tangata whenua and Pacific communities.
  • Demonstrate effective project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hold budget management skills and be able to travel nationally with potential for weekly travel when required.
