Through UniServices, a wholly owned social impact company of Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland, we are contracted by Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora and the Ministry of Education to grow the capacity and capability of the infant, child, youth and whanau mental health and addictions workforces.

Have you managed projects and budgets and delivered training programmes?Wharaurau seeks an experienced and passionate Workforce Delivery Lead to lead and facilitate the activity that supports our mental health and addictions programmes aimed at the infant, child and youth workforce across the spectrum of care (PHO, NGO, Te Whatu Ora services and those working in OT, education and youth justice).
Initially, the role will support the Maternal Mental Health and Trauma Informed Care programmes and then support other programme deliverables; flexibility will be key.
You will plan, provide resources, deliver and report on these workforce delivery activities, which enhance the capability of the infant, child, youth and whanau workforce.
These programmes will support the development of knowledge and skills of those in the sector.Ideally you will have experience in infant, child, and youth mental health and working with whanau and communities.
You will demonstrate project management and delivery capability alongside your clinical expertise in mental health and addiction services.
This is a great opportunity to work for a positive and passionate purpose, whilst gaining exposure to national projects that genuinely make a difference.Key responsibilities:Lead and manage designated projects, providing strategic direction and oversight to ensure successful implementation of workforce development activities.Plan, deliver, and report on key tasks related to the Wharaurau workforce development programme, specifically in the areas of infant, child, youth and maternal mental health and addictions, and the trauma informed care work.Promote and implement trauma informed approaches and practices across services that support infants, children, youth and their whanau, ensuring that these approaches are culturally appropriate and responsive to the unique needs of Maori, Pacific, and other diverse communities.Support workforce development with a focus on maternal mental health, ensuring that professionals are equipped to provide effective, empathetic, and culturally competent care to those having babies and whanau facing mental health challenges.Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure workforce development activities are evidence-based, and meet the needs of the infant, child, youth and whanau mental health sector in Aotearoa.Support the ICAMH (Infant, Child, and Adolescent Mental Health) and AOD (Alcohol and Other Drugs) workforce in the implementation of trauma-informed practices, strengthening their capacity to respond effectively to the mental health and addiction needs of infants, children, youth and those that care for them.Ensure principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi are supported and implemented in delivery of service.Your skills and experience:It is essential for you to hold:A clinical qualification with a relevant tertiary degree in mental health, health or education.5 years minimum workplace experience in either Clinical services or as a Project Manager in clinical or NGO services.Experience with pepi, tamariki and taiohi (infant, child and youth) and maternal wellbeing, addiction and or mental health services in Aotearoa.Understanding of Maori and Pacific approaches to wellbeing, and a commitment to promote positive outcomes for tangata whenua and Pacific communities.A track record of effective project and stakeholder management.Evidence of budget management skills.The ability to travel nationally with potential for weekly travel when required.Only applicants with the right to work in New Zealand will be considered.What we offer:Great benefits, including 5 weeks annual leave, up to 6.75% company superannuation scheme, eye-testing and glasses subsidies, access to discounts on health insurance and gym memberships, and long-service recognition.
