Job Overview: Auckland One Rail, a joint venture between Comfort Delgro Group and UGL, seeks a skilled Human Resources Director to lead its People & Culture function. The successful candidate will drive business partnering, employee relations, and organisational development initiatives to achieve excellence in customer service.

About the Role: This key position is responsible for overall management of the People & Culture function, supporting the business through provision of people strategies and legislatively compliant IR/ER advice. The role requires leadership of learning and capability across professional, operational/technical, and customer experience requirements, as well as recruitment/talent management and policy development.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build strong working relationships with Auckland One Rail leaders at all levels, driving a customer-focused service ethos.
  • Provide quality advice and guidance on human resources matters, including industrial relations and legislative compliance.
  • Ensure leaders are equipped with skills to manage HR matters and initiatives, coaching them through resolution of HR issues.
  • Negotiate with unions, demonstrating solid knowledge of collective bargaining processes and legislative requirements.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in leading multi-disciplined HR teams, including specialist areas like employee relations and change management.
  • Successful experience in active industrial relations environments, including collective bargaining and negotiations.
  • Tertiary qualification in Human Resource Management or related field highly desirable.
