We are seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Expert to join our team at Toitu Te Whenua. As a key member of our Applications Team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that overseas investment aligns with the Overseas Investment Act 2005.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse complex legal and commercial information to identify key issues and risks.
- Provide advice on overseas investment risk, including national interest and national security risk.
- Collaborate with other NZ government agencies to ensure compliance with regulations.
- Present analysis and recommendations to decision-makers, applicants, and the wider public.
- Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to overall improvements of our system and regulatory regime.
Requirements
- A relevant tertiary degree in law, economics, commerce, accounting, or prior experience in a relevant field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills aligned with strong relationship management skills.
- Ability to see the 'bigger picture' and identify key issues from complex information.
- An understanding of the machinery of government and prior exposure to our national security system would be beneficial.
- You will either have or will be required to obtain and maintain a Top Secret national security clearance.
