About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Principal Adviser to join our Regulatory Advice Service team. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic guidance and support to the Manager in developing and implementing the work programme.

You will have a proven ability to provide original thinking, anticipate issues, and explore ideas and opportunities to improve the customer experience. Your extensive knowledge of government agency functions, strategies, and primary sector legislative frameworks will be valuable assets in this role.

In addition to your technical expertise, you will possess excellent stakeholder engagement abilities, with both internal and external customers, and be confident in establishing and maintaining relationships with a wide variety of people.

About You
  • You have significant experience in programme planning and delivery, with a proven track record of providing strategic thinking and input.
  • Your experience includes project/programme management, service design/design thinking, process improvement, and conceptual and analytical skills.
  • You have excellent communication and listening skills, and are able to understand technical issues objectively, consider options, and translate into simple, easily communicated information.
About the Team

The Regulatory Advice Service provides support for New Zealand exporters, importers, and food businesses on regulations administered under legislation that supports the New Zealand food and fibre sector.

We enable businesses to better understand their requirements for export from New Zealand and their obligations in export markets, thereby directly supporting the growth of New Zealand's international export trade.
