We are seeking a skilled nurse to join our team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist – Māori Health. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop your career in palliative care with a specialist focus on Māori Health and advocacy.

You will have the opportunity to shape your role and be innovative, working in conjunction with our multidisciplinary team. You will also have autonomy to collaborate with patients and whānau to make the best decisions regarding care and treatment, in the context for Māori.

This position has been created to further acknowledge our responsibilities to Te Triti o Waitangi and to improve access for Māori patients.

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • senior nursing background with at least 4 years' experience in palliative care or similar
  • keenness and desire to work at the top of your scope
  • ability to demonstrate clinical, professional and cultural leadership
  • preparedness to grow the role and bring a solid Māori cultural lens to this work
  • interest and enthusiasm for continuous quality improvement
  • ability to demonstrate evidenced based practice
