We are seeking a dynamic and transformative Nurse Director to provide professional, strategic, and operational Maori and Nursing leadership across Starship Child Health.
This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring Starship delivers mokopuna-centric, whanau-focused, whanau-led nursing services that sit at the interface of indigenous science and biomedical excellence advancing health equity for our tamariki, mokopuna and their whanau.
About the Role:
The Nurse Director will provide direction in nursing clinical excellence, cultural competence, workforce wellbeing and professional development, ensuring Te Tiriti o Waitangi is applied throughout all nursing practice.
This role requires strong nursing leadership grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi, expertise in cultural competence and a deep understanding of the systemic drivers of health inequity.
The successful candidate will be passionate about workforce development, empowering nurse leaders, driving innovation and fostering a collaborative culture that ensures mokopuna-centric, whanau-focused, whanau-led care.
About You:
To be successful, you will have a professional nursing qualification, eligible for New Zealand registration and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
Post graduate qualification in nursing, health leadership or Maori health with leadership experience at a Senior level within a large complex organisation (preferably within a Healthcare setting) is also required.
Demonstrated Te Tiriti o Waitangi knowledge and application to ensure Maori health gain is essential.
