About the Role
As a key member of the Medical Team, this position is responsible for actively interfacing with multiple external and internal stakeholders to ensure the implementation of the local strategy. This includes building and maintaining relationships with Key Thought Leaders through discussions on marketed medicines, future pipeline assets, and chronic disease management.

Responsibilities
The Senior Medical Science Liaison will be responsible for:

  • Building and developing face-to-face and virtual relationships with external experts & healthcare professionals in obesity, diabetes, and chronic disease management.
  • Participating in robust and transparent scientific dialogue.
  • Responding to requests for scientific and medical information in a comprehensive, timely, and customer-focused manner.
  • Facilitating face-to-face and virtual presentations to nurses, Specialists, and formulary committees.
  • Providing medical input and expertise in the development of medical-marketing strategies, evidence-based medical education, and promotional campaigns.
  • Expanding knowledge in cardiovascular and endocrine pharmacology, drug development, real-world evidence generation, health outcomes, and patient safety.

Qualifications
The successful candidate must have a bachelor's degree, preferably in Pharmaceutical or life sciences. At least 2 years+ of demonstrated and achieved MSL experience in the pharmaceutical industry is preferred. Excellent scientific communication skills and confidence in presenting to diverse groups are essential. Strong analytical skills and the ability to influence and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders are also required. Must either be a New Zealand Citizen or have a current residency Visa to live and work in New Zealand.
