Main Responsibilities- HSEQ Policy Development: Create and maintain HSEQ policies, procedures, and management systems to ensure compliance and best practices across all sites.
- Audit and Risk Management: Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and drive continuous improvement.
- Training and Guidance: Deliver training and provide expert guidance to all employees, championing a culture of safety and responsibility.
- Investigation and Improvement: Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor HSEQ performance, prepare insightful reports, and drive data-backed decisions with leadership.
- A Tertiary Qualification (Degree or above) in H&S or Environmental Science.
- 3-5 years of experience in a similar HSE role (preferably within the waste management or related industry).
- A strong background in risk management and the ability to manage change effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE, ACC, and HSNO legislation and standards.
- Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
- Strong communication and presentation skills — able to engage and influence at all levels.
- A keen eye for detail with excellent analytical, conceptual, and research skills.
- Great time management and the ability to self-manage in a fast-paced environment.
- Legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
