About This Opportunity

We're looking for a highly skilled HSEQ Advisor to join our Corporate HSEQ team, providing expert support for the Divisional HSEQ Partner. Based in Seaview, Wellington, this role offers a chance to shape the future of waste management practices, health, safety, environmental sustainability, and quality excellence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and drive continuous improvement.
  • Deliver training and provide expert guidance to all employees, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.
  • Lead investigations into incidents and near-misses, providing actionable recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor HSEQ performance, prepare insightful reports, and drive data-backed decisions with leadership.
  • Work cross-functionally to integrate HSEQ considerations into daily operations and strategic decision-making.

This role requires a strong background in risk management, with the ability to manage change effectively and keep up with evolving regulations and standards.

Key Requirements

  • A Tertiary Qualification (Degree or above) in H&S or Environmental Science.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar HSE role (preferably within the waste management or related industry).
  • In-depth knowledge of HSE, ACC, and HSNO legislation and standards.
  • Familiarity with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills — able to engage and influence at all levels.
