About the Role

The Principal Advisor will provide strategic leadership and policy advice to support the EPA's delivery of HSNO Act functions. This role contributes to HSNO operational strategy and delivery, including process efficiencies, legislative amendments, and leading complex business improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide thought leadership on complex regulatory matters with high profile accountabilities to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use technical knowledge to influence outcomes and contribute to HSNO operational strategy and delivery.
  • Lead complex, interconnected business improvement projects and identify and mitigate risks.
  • Analyse large volumes of information and provide quality advice based on findings.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation, especially the HSNO Act.
  • Significant regulatory experience working at a principal level.
  • Ability to lead complex business improvement projects and comprehend and quickly synthesise and analyse large volumes of information.
  • Understanding of chemical regulation in comparable international jurisdictions.
