We are crafting new ways of working together, and each one of us has an essential role in making our district the best place to live, work and play.We are on the hunt for a Health and Safety Advisor, who can provide exceptional health, safety and wellbeing leadership across the Mackenzie District Council.This role plays an instrumental part in keeping Team Mack employees safe, happy and well at work by promoting and embedding a safety culture across the organisation.
The Health and Safety Advisor is the health and safety guidance center point for management and team members, requiring you to have strong relationship building abilities and proven technical skills to provide sound advice to the Executive and Senior Leadership Teams as well as Team Mack members.As our H&S Advisor, you will be responsible for health and safety compliance such as audits, reviewing and developing systems, policies and procedures, alongside being an advocate for employee wellbeing and developing initiatives that best support Team Mack.A successful candidate for this H&S Advisor role will have:A relevant tertiary qualification in Health and Safety3+ years' experience in a related field or similar roleExpertise and knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015 and other relevant legislationProven ability to perform under high pressure situations and be well organisedExperience developing and implementing Health and Safety Management systemsExcelled written and verbal communication skillsSound professional judgement and decision-making abilityA clean full driver's licence is essential (you will need to be able to travel between our Twizel and Fairlie offices)This is a part time, permanent role (30 hours per week) and is based out of our Fairlie office.Applications close: 5pm Monday 10th March 2025Further Enquiries: Alexis Kereikeepa, 027 597 5802 or ******
