Whenuakite Farm is a 520 effective hectare dairy farm located on the Coromandel Peninsula. The farm is known for its efficient bull systems and offers a unique opportunity for an experienced shepherd to take on a senior role.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Shepherd or Senior Shepherd to join our team as a Livestock Operations Lead. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the success of our farm by advising the Farm Manager on best practices for animal health and optimal pasture management.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Advise the Farm Manager on best practices for animal health and optimal pasture management
  2. Monitor live weight production to ensure livestock performance, proactively managing pasture conditions to support growth
  3. Oversee general farm maintenance to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently
  4. Propose innovative solutions and strategies to enhance farm productivity and sustainability

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have proven experience as a Shepherd or Senior Shepherd, good stock sense, and at least three to four genuine working dogs. You will also need to have a commitment to health and safety, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working in a team environment.
