The Role
We're seeking skilled and experienced Registered Nurses to join our team at Waikato Hospital's Orthopaedic Operating Theatres department. As a key member of our Theatre Nursing team, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe and effective care to patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery.

About the Service
Our Theatre and Anaesthesia department is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that offers a wide range of surgical specialties. You'll have the opportunity to work with experienced surgeons, anaesthetists, and theatre staff to provide expert care to patients. In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Providing high-quality patient care and ensuring their safety during surgery
  • Coordinating with surgeons and anaesthetists to prepare patients for surgery
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes

Your Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 3-5 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an orthopaedic operating theatre setting
  • A sound understanding of orthopaedic instruments, equipment, and surgical protocols
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection prevention and sterile techniques in an operating room environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with surgeons, anaesthetists, patients, and theatre staff
