Ambulance Operations Effectiveness Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the position of Head of Ambulance Operations Effectiveness. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for driving strategic planning, enhancing performance and strengthening workforce retention and engagement across both volunteer and paid workforces.

This role will require you to oversee performance management and planning to support effective service delivery across Ambulance Operations. You will also be responsible for ensuring Ambulance Operations meets the requirements of its core contracts with ACC and Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee performance management and planning to support effective service delivery across Ambulance Operations.
  • Ensure Ambulance Operations meets the requirements of its core contracts with ACC and Health New Zealand – Te Whatu Ora.
  • Drive medium to long term workforce, operational Ambulance Activity and Resourcing Model (AARM) and lead strategic planning which accounts for future workforce and infrastructure requirements.
  • Lead initiatives that measure, sustain and enhance the safety and welfare of ambulance operations personnel.
  • Report on performance, KPIs and provide related insights across service delivery functions.

About You:

  • A minimum of five year's senior leadership/management experience in a health-related organisation – ambulance sector/functional experience would be an advantage.
  • A strong understanding of issues relating to health equity and delivering against Ti Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
  • Proven success in managing people, performance and resources to drive improvement, innovation and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively influence and advocate at a senior level with strong written and oral communication skills.
