We have an exciting opportunity for a Research Support Specialist to join our Faculty of Science Research Services team, providing high-quality support for the NZ-China Collaborative Biomedical Research Programme.

This programme brings together Chinese and New Zealand experts across various scientific disciplines over the next two years to address unmet needs for effective therapies in cancer, metabolic disease, infectious disease, neurologic disease, and regenerative medicine.

As the Research Support Specialist, you will work closely with the Director(s) and research leads within the programme, coordinating activities and tasks, and assisting with supporting researchers associated with the programme.

You will also be responsible for coordinating events related to the programme, maintaining the online presence and communications, and overseeing financial records and reporting.

We are looking for someone with a relevant tertiary qualification and experience working in a research environment or relevant work experience in a tertiary research environment.

Key skills and qualifications include:

  • Fluency in verbal and written Mandarin
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and engagement skills
  • Proactive approach with the ability to use initiative and self-manage workloads
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
