About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our communications and government services team as Head of Communications and Government Services. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that WorkSafe operates effectively as a Crown entity.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead teams responsible for government engagement, ministerial servicing, internal and external communications, and performance reporting.
- Develop and implement effective communication strategies to engage with stakeholders, including ministers, officials, and the public.
- Provide expert advice on communications and stakeholder relations to the CEO and other senior leaders.
- Refine accountability reporting, strengthen strategic branding, and embed consistent internal processes.
- Ensure performance data is accurate, aligned with financial reporting, and supports informed decision-making.
What You'll Bring
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Extensive experience in ministerial and government engagement with a strong understanding of the machinery of government, ministerial processes, and board-level reporting.
- A strong track record of leading high-performing teams and driving business outcomes.
- Exceptional strategic communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex information for executive and board audiences.
- Experience in navigating complex government relationships and ensuring high standards in ministerial servicing, official information requests (OIA), and external communications.
