The Director Stakeholder Engagement role at McLaren Associates Ltd. is a pivotal position within the senior leadership team, overseeing marketing, communications, fundraising, partnerships, membership and business development.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will lead VSA's Stakeholder Engagement Team, driving strategic and operational stakeholder engagement, exploring innovative programmes, and securing independent funding to support new initiatives.

This role focuses on expanding the organisation's reach and strengthening public support for impactful volunteering for development work. You will build relationships with partners and volunteers in our programmes throughout the wider Pacific region.

  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams and a broad understanding of stakeholder engagement functions, with a background in marketing and public engagement areas viewed favourably.
  • A great people leader who can lead, coach, develop and motivate others.
  • Previous experience working as part of a leadership team at a wide organisational level.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution through work programmes.
  • A track record of achievement in stakeholder engagement, including developing relationships that support shared goals and outcomes.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Commitment to international development principles and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, bi-culturalism and multi-culturalism.
