**About the Role**

IHC New Zealand is committed to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities to live in their own homes and enjoy life as part of their communities. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assistance to individuals in developing their independence and acquiring skills for daily living.

The role involves tasks such as helping them with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation. Depending on the specific work environment, Support Workers may also assist with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration.

We prefer someone who has previous experience working within the disability sector or aged care, but a strong desire to pursue a career as a Support Worker with a positive attitude is highly valued. Full training and orientation will be provided to individuals who demonstrate enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Assist individuals with daily living tasks
  • Help with public transportation, employment, finances, and meal preparation
  • Provide support with individual needs such as shopping, cleaning, showering, and medication administration

**Requirements**

  • Previous experience working within the disability sector or aged care
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Physical fitness to provide necessary physical support
  • A Full NZ driver's license
