The Ministry of Justice (New Zealand) seeks a talented individual to fill the role of Court Administrator.

As a key member of the Wellington District Court team, you will provide high-quality research and directly support the District Court Judges and Community Magistrates.

About the Role

This is a 2-3 year fixed term internship for motivated, enthusiastic law professionals to develop an intricate and first-hand view of the judicial system.

  • You will provide efficient and accurate legal support on any topic required by resident and visiting District Court Judges in the Wellington region.

To be successful, you will need to be self-motivated, able to manage workloads and maintain confidentiality. You must also understand and consider the practicalities of outcomes as well as their legality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supplying research to support the work of District Court Judges and Community Magistrates.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with care.

Requirements

  • LLB with a strong academic record.
  • Excellent written communication and research skills.
  • Good computer literacy.

What We Offer

  • A competitive starting salary of $67,845, rising after 6 months service and subsequent 6-month periods.
