South Canterbury District Health Board is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Healthcare Assistant to join our team in the Oncology Medical Day Unit. This is a permanent part-time position, working 0.8 FTE (Tuesday to Friday).

In this role, you will be working under the direction of doctors and nurses to provide direct patient care and support. You will also be responsible for assisting with functions to coordinate the flow of patients through the unit.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent verbal and written communication skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. A positive and courteous outlook is essential, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team environment.

You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients, including those receiving IV therapies such as blood and blood product administration, immunotherapy treatments, and chemotherapy. Our team is committed to providing high-quality care and supporting each other in our roles.
