About the RoleThis permanent, full-time position involves providing specialist expertise in clinical immunology and immunopathology to patients and referrers across Health New Zealand, Canterbury.
- Diagnosing and managing allergic diseases, autoimmune conditions, and primary immunodeficiencies is a key responsibility of this role.
- Supporting the development of laboratory diagnostic services, particularly in autoimmune serology, allergy, and immunodeficiency is another important aspect.
- Contributing to the teaching of medical and scientific staff and supporting research initiatives will be a valuable addition to the team.
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (or equivalent) is required.
- Registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand, including vocational registration in the specialty is necessary.
- Laboratory experience in immunology at a senior level is highly desirable.
- A current Annual Practicing Certificate and medical indemnity insurance is mandatory.
