We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technician to join our Endocrinology team at the Canterbury Health Laboratories (CHL). As a Medical Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out techniques to a high standard according to laboratory protocol and identifying and actioning results efficiently.
The successful applicant will contribute to the quality management procedures for the Endocrinology Section and develop and maintain their skills and professional expertise through teaching sessions and educational meetings. We require a client/patient focus and passion for delivering a high-quality service.

The CHL is a leading-edge reference laboratory with over 65 skilled and dedicated Scientists and Technicians working across several specialist areas, including Specialist Chemistry, Protein Chemistry, Immunology, Endocrinology, and Toxicology.
Our team is committed to excellence in healthcare and is focused on providing high-quality services to patients. We are proud of our status as a leading-edge reference laboratory and strive to develop new and innovative tests to meet changing healthcare needs.
About You
- You will have a general understanding of endocrinology and mass spectrometry.
- You will be able to liaise and communicate with a wide range of clinical and technical staff.
- You will have good working knowledge of a wide range of manual and semi-automated techniques.
- You will be able to lead quality improvement initiatives along with excellent time management skills.
- You will have New Zealand Registration as a Medical Laboratory Technician.
