Facilities Operations Manager

About The RoleThe Facilities Operations Manager (Sanitation and Waste) will support integrated service delivery and Ventia's whole-of-asset focus. This role is responsible for the management of our team Mobile Orderlies, Public Facilities Cleaner, Street Sweepers, Water Blasters that look after Auckland Council open spaces including shopfronts, parks, reserves, playgrounds, beaches, and reserves.
Key Accountabilities- Recruitment, onboarding, and training of team members
- Coaching and mentoring of team members to achieve the best possible outcomes for our business and clients
- Performance management and disciplinary processes
- Toolbox talks and training sessions in an engaging way, and be prepared to accept feedback on new ways of working from operational teams
- Staff engagement and productivity as measured by engagement surveys, ER transactional activity, and turnover
- HSEQ audits
- Stakeholder and client management
- Relevant experience in sanitation & Waste or Hard Surfaces Delivery is an advantage
- Additional qualifications and/or knowledge of employment relations and SHEQ is advantageous
- Full Class 1 Drivers licence
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
- Knowledge of power tool use, storage, and handling
- Credible supervisory or management experience of diverse workforce
- 5 or more years supervisory/management experience in a position involving large volumes of assets and programmed servicing schedules
