Team Overview

The Space Systems Propulsion team is responsible for developing and delivering qualified, flight-ready space vehicle propulsion systems. We take ownership from mission requirement through detailed design, qualification, integration, and on-orbit operation.

Examples of our work include the Curie and HyperCurie engines, ESCAPADE spacecraft propulsion systems, and the Victus Haze mission. As a Development Technician, you will collaborate closely with engineers to build and test hardware, including prototypes, tooling, test rigs, or flight parts.

Your Role

You will work independently with minimal instructions, thinking ahead to avoid problems and learning on the job daily. Most days will be varied, with different tasks coming up, but sometimes you may support production or perform repetitive work. You will have a deadline-driven environment where overtime is requested at times.

Requirements

  • Strong attention to detail and technical curiosity.
  • Industry experience and NZQCF Level 6 trade certificate in Engineering, fitting and turning, welding, or electrical and instrumentation, or equivalent.
  • Machining, welding, electrical, or mechanical assembly experience and aptitude.
  • The ability to work effectively both in a team environment and independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with computer literacy.
