About This Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our team as a National Heritage Project Manager.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing national heritage projects, providing guidance and support to regional teams, and maintaining accurate records and reports.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage national heritage projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Provide guidance and support to regional teams in project development and delivery.
  • Liaise with stakeholders, including whānau, hapū, and iwi, to build and maintain collaborative relationships.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including national project reporting for the National Cultural Heritage Fund.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in a conservation or heritage context.
  • Strong understanding of heritage conservation principles, policies, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with experience working with diverse groups.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proficient user of MS Office and relevant project management tools.
  • A passion for the Department's kaupapa and a commitment to upholding its values.
