We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community Support Worker to join our team. In this rewarding role, you will provide individualized support to clients with physical and intellectual disabilities, enabling them to participate fully in their communities.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to remain calm and patient in challenging situations. A relevant qualification or experience in disability support is desirable but not essential. We offer comprehensive training and support to ensure your success in this role.

About the Role

This part-time position involves working 14 hours per week, supporting an energetic young lady living at home with her family and two cats. Your duties will include assisting with daily activities, promoting community participation, socializing, work or education, personal cares, and domestic chores.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to promote client empowerment and independence
  • Provide one-on-one support to clients, including assistance with daily living skills and personal cares
  • Encourage and facilitate community participation, socialization, and engagement
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, ensuring high-quality care and support

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong commitment to delivering person-centered care and support
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to remain calm and patient in challenging situations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • A full New Zealand driver's license and willingness to use a vehicle for work purposes
