About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Independent Living Support Worker to join our team at Spectrum Care. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing support to individuals with physical and intellectual disabilities in their own homes and out into the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one support to individuals in their own homes and out into the community.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the individual and their family to ensure their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a high level of care is provided.
  • Report and document any concerns or incidents in a timely manner.

Requirements:

  • An interest in attaining a Community Support Worker Level Three or above qualification.
  • Experience supporting people with disabilities, mental health issues, and/or challenging behaviors is desirable but not necessary.
  • Reliability, commitment, and passion for working with people.
  • A full New Zealand driver's licence.
  • The ability to use a computer effectively, including programs such as Word and email.
