Salary

The estimated annual salary for this position is around $90,000 - $120,000, depending on experience and qualifications. This is a permanent, part-time position (0.6 FTE) working 24 hours per week based in Whangarei.

About the Role

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our Hospital in the Home (Hi TH) service. The successful candidate will utilize their advanced clinical expertise to deliver Hi TH care across various settings, providing case coordination to enhance the patient journey and improve outcomes. As a member of our team, you will be responsible for day-to-day leadership, coordination, coaching, and mentorship to nursing colleagues and other members of the Hi TH team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver High-Quality Patient Care: Provide Hospital in the Home (Hi TH) care to patients in their preferred place of residence, ensuring they receive equivalent access to specialist acute care as an inpatient.
  • Leadership and Coordination: Lead and coordinate the Hi TH team, developing new resources to support patient care delivery and implementing quality initiatives to review and evaluate the service.
  • Mentorship and Education: Coach and mentor nursing colleagues to develop their skills and knowledge, supporting them in their career progression.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Prior experience in the acute care setting in New Zealand.
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Willingness to contribute to the development of a new service and help form a new team.
  • Experience working with patients from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Advanced practice skills and knowledge with relevant nursing competencies.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with mentoring and educating nurses.
  • A current full NZ driver's license.
