Job Description

As the National Events Director, you will lead all operational requirements from planning to delivery and review. You will manage relationships with stakeholders, including SLSNZ staff, volunteer groups, and councils, to support event operations.

You will also manage budgets, identify sponsorship opportunities, and work with partners and funding bodies to secure funding. Your role requires excellent communication, relationship management, and strategic planning skills.

You will be responsible for contributing to 'best practice' event management processes that support staff and volunteers, ensuring SLSNZ events meet membership and stakeholder needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Team player with leadership skills
  • Familiarity with sport and surf lifesaving
  • Successful record as an event manager under pressure
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and networking skills
  • Proven strategic planning capabilities
  • Experience managing budgets and cost centres
  • Ability to work flexibly and self-directed
  • Qualification or experience in a relevant field (Sport, Events, Management, Commerce)
