Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Live Nation Full time

Job Summary:

About Spark Arena:
Join the team at Spark Arena, Auckland's premier venue for sports and entertainment. Since 2007, we've hosted the world's biggest names, delivering unforgettable experiences in a world-class performance space. As part of the Live Nation Group, we specialise in creating dynamic events that captivate audiences. Be part of our passionate team and make your mark in live entertainment

The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Events, the Event Manager plays a key role in planning and delivering corporate events at Spark Arena—ranging from banquets and conferences to trade shows and bespoke functions. You'll work closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.

On office days, you'll collaborate with the team, meet with clients, and finesse event details—usually wrapped around our daily 2pm coffee walk. On event days, you'll be onsite managing setups, solving problems on the fly, and leading from the front to ensure everything runs smoothly. While your focus is corporate, you'll also gain exposure to concert operations and ticketing, making this an exciting role for someone who thrives on variety and loves live events.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of corporate events, including logistics, catering, FOH, and ticketing
  • Manage client relationships from initial planning through to post-event debriefs
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless execution
  • Supervise casual FOH staff and uphold Spark Arena's high presentation and service standards
  • Coordinate room setups, floor plans, and production schedules
  • Contribute to health & safety strategy and participate in relevant safety committees
  • Support the delivery of concert and ticketed events as needed
  • Provide assistance with Spark Arena's Premium and VIP programs
  • Continuously seek ways to improve processes and stay aligned with national/international best practices

What we're looking for:

Essential:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience managing corporate events
  • Proven ability to manage clients, suppliers, and event logistics with confidence
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Flexible and willing to work evenings and weekends
  • Health & safety training and awareness
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Experience in delivering events within a venue environment
  • Familiarity with alcohol and crowd management
  • Experience with event management/booking software
  • Budget management capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting floor plans

The Benefits:

  • A vibrant, music-focused workplace fostering creativity and collaboration.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career advancement.
  • Access to concerts, events, and other entertainment perks.
  • A diverse, equitable workplace where every voice matters.
  • Benefits like health insurance, wellness programs, and mental health support.

Equal Opportunities:

We are passionate and committed to our people and go beyond the rhetoric of diversity and inclusion. You will be working in an inclusive environment and be encouraged to bring your whole self to work. We will do all that we can to help you successfully balance your work and Homelife. As a growing business, we will encourage you to develop your professional and personal aspirations, enjoy new experiences, and learn from the talented people you will be working with. It's talent that matters to us and we encourage applications from people irrespective of their gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability status or caring responsibilities.

If you're ready to take centre stage in a fast-paced, high-profile venue and play a key role in delivering unforgettable corporate events—apply now and join the team at Spark Arena.
