Job Overview:

Southern Critical Care is a leading centre for intensive care medicine, providing comprehensive training and education opportunities for registrars. The unit's expertise spans trauma, neurosurgery, cardiothoracic, and paediatric intensive care, with a focus on delivering high-quality patient care.

The team is committed to providing exceptional educational experiences, including weekly seminars, fortnightly simulations, and targeted teaching for primary and fellowship exams. In-house echocardiography and ultrasound teaching are also available, as well as opportunities for research collaborations with the University of Otago.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic and challenging environment
  • Participate in registrar education and training programs
  • Contribute to the development of unit policies and procedures

Requirements:

  • Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand or eligibility for general or provisional general registration
  • A minimum of three years' post-qualification experience
  • Prior intensive care experience is advantageous, but not necessary
