About the Role

The Moving and Handling Coordinator will play a critical role in implementing the national Moving and Handling Policy within the district. This involves developing and implementing a risk-based programme plan for Moving and Handling across the district, educating staff on appropriate and safe moving and handling practices, and providing consultation and advice on moving and handling hazards and problem-solving controls.

The ideal candidate will be a registered health professional with experience in occupational health and safety practice, knowledge of injury prevention, moving and handling principles, and education and health risk management principles. They will also have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team and the wider organisation, and possess strong work organisation and prioritisation skills.

About the Team/Service/Location

You will be part of a welcoming and supportive local, regional and national occupational health team who are transitioning through change into a new occupational health structure. You will have readily available support from the National Lead for Moving and Handling and the wider Health NZ Moving and Handling interdisciplinary team covering all regions.
