We aim to shape the future of education in New Zealand by supporting children and young people with additional learning needs. Our Learning Support team works closely with families, whānau, caregivers, schools, and early childhood educators to help maximise learning outcomes and promote social inclusion.

As a Psychologist, you will play a critical role in our region's Learning Support team by identifying patterns or contributing factors that may be influencing learning, well-being, and behaviour.

About this role
  1. You will enhance inclusive practices in early learning services, schools, and other educational settings.
  2. You will provide professional support and guidance to schools, teachers, and families, building the capacity of those who are best placed to support the learning of children and young people.
  3. You will provide appropriate in-depth specialist assessment and analysis for evidence-informed interventions.
  4. You will work as part of a trans-disciplinary team where a child's needs are complex.

Your salary will be between $85,416-$121,466 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. Your individual skills and experience will determine your exact salary.

About you

To be successful, you must have a master's level tertiary qualification and a post-graduate Diploma in Educational Psychology or equivalent.

You should also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to work effectively with children, young people, their families, and teachers across a diverse range of settings.
