About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our Community Assessment Team in Nelson, New Zealand. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive mental health services to individuals and their families.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and conduct urgent psychiatric evaluations and assessments of individuals referred to the Community Assessment Team.
  • Provide diagnosis and discuss treatment options with patients and their family members.
  • Lead a team offering urgent interventions and support for individuals experiencing acute mental health crises.
  • Liaise with whānau and others involved in patients' care in community services.
Requirements:
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification.
  • Eligibility for an Annual Practising Certificate and vocational registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • Experience providing assessment, diagnosis, and treatment interventions for individuals suffering from mental health and addictive disorders.
