Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is a 700-hectare former water reserve enclosed by a 14.5km predator exclusion fence, providing a protected environment for native flora and fauna.

Job Description

We are seeking an Environmental Director to lead the Sanctuary through its next phase of securing ongoing funding, further translocations, and growth in awareness and visitor numbers. The role involves implementing the vision while maintaining strong relationships with local iwi, securing funding, leading staff and volunteers, managing finances, promoting and marketing the sanctuary, and advocating for the organization.

Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a leadership role with a strong environmental/conservation focus, a passion for the project, excellent communication and public speaking skills, and experience in leading a Not-For-Profit organization.
