Job Description:
As an experienced Orthopaedic Surgeon at Nelson Hospital, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality, patient-centred care to the Nelson-Marlborough region. Your expertise will contribute to the development of individualized care plans, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and participation in quality improvement initiatives. You will also engage in teaching and mentorship opportunities, staying up-to-date with advancements in orthopaedic care and bringing innovative practices to the department.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons or equivalent, Eligible for an Annual Practising Certificate with a vocational scope of Orthopaedic Surgery with the Medical Council of New Zealand, Proven expertise in both trauma and elective orthopaedic procedures, Sub-specialty interest in upper limb arthroplasty, Spine, or Paediatrics, Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, Commitment to teamwork, patient-centred care, and continuous professional development, Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth, Experience in projects/initiatives which give effect to Te Tiriti principals and frameworks, and the application of Mātauranga Māori and Kaupapa Māori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
