The Opportunity

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, with opportunities in West and South Auckland. As an Advocacy Support Worker, you will be providing essential services to wahine and tamariki who are experiencing or have experienced whānau violence. You will work closely with a dedicated team who share a passion for supporting their community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior-level support, advocacy, and referral services to wahine and their whānau who access our services.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships built on trust, privacy, and confidentiality.
  • Support tangata whaiora by providing transportation to attend programs and appointments when necessary.
  • Effectively assess situations using identified and appropriate methods of safe social work.
  • Document case notes and whānau plans, monitoring progress and ensuring women and children receive necessary support.
Requirements
  • A social worker qualification or 2+ years of experience in a social service agency working with vulnerable whānau.
  • Experience working with whānau, hapū, and Iwi.
  • Clear professional boundaries and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in the community or within a social services setting supporting Māori and Pasifika whānau.
  • A full driver's license is required.
