About the role

The NZ Payroll team invites applications for an Assistant Payroll Lead - Distribution position. This role requires the accurate and timely processing of payroll-related tasks in accordance with company procedures and business unit requirements.

Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to contractual terms, service level agreements, company policy, and relevant employment legislation. The successful candidate will also provide legislative and system guidance, direction, and advice on payroll-related projects to Fletcher Building Business Units.

This role supports the Payroll Team Leaders in developing the payroll service delivery strategy and provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

About you

You will possess extensive experience in payroll management, particularly in complex collective employments, high volumes, and intricate business environments. Ideally, you will be certified under the NZPPA framework.

A key requirement is the ability to perform off-system payroll calculations to ensure expected outcomes from system configuration. You should have solid experience in interpreting CEAs and IEAs to support the setup and maintenance of pay rules in time and attendance systems.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining compliance and controls across the end-to-end payroll process.
